Who we are
Kitchen Stock is run by Pactly Private Limited, a company registered in Singapore with UEN 201718364C. In this policy “we” means Pactly Private Limited. You can reach our Data Protection Officer at privacy@kitchenstock.io.
Kitchen Stock is for households in Singapore. It is not offered to people living in the European Union or the United Kingdom.
What we collect
- Your account. Your name, your email address and your password, which we store in a form nobody can read back. We also record when you sign in.
- Your household. Its name, who belongs to it, who manages it, and the invitations you send, including the name and email address of the person you invite.
- What you plan and cook. The recipes you save or import and where they came from, photos you add, your meal plans and notes, shopping lists, the products you pick at grocers and the orders you record, and your settings. What households pick for an ingredient is pooled, without names, as a suggestion for others.
- How you use Discover. Which suggested recipes each person opens, visits and adds, which recipes and kitchens your household hides, and which coming-soon features you tell us you would use.
- Import records. Each time you import a recipe we keep the address or text you gave us, what we found and any error, so we can fix problems.
- Our website. If you register interest in the beta, your email address and the campaign details of the link you came from.
- Technical information. Our servers record requests, errors and diagnostic information so we can investigate failures, keep the service secure and improve reliability.
- Messages you send us.
We do not collect payment details, your location, your device’s address book or advertising identifiers. We do store the household memberships and invitations described above.
Why we use it
We use your information to run Kitchen Stock for your household. That means signing you in, sharing plans with the people in your household, importing recipes, building shopping lists and suggesting recipes your household may like. We also use it to send the emails you need, such as confirming your address, resetting your password and invitations, to keep the service secure, to fix problems, to understand which parts of Kitchen Stock are useful, and to answer you.
We also use what households plan and cook, with names and contact details removed, to improve Kitchen Stock. That includes building our own ways of suggesting recipes.
We do not sell your personal data. There is no advertising in Kitchen Stock today. If that changes, we will update this policy and tell you before it starts.
How we use AI
When you choose to use AI to read pasted recipe text, generate a recipe picture or prepare a cooking plan, we send the recipe content and your instructions to OpenAI. We ask for permission before the first use and remember your choice. You can turn this off in Profile Settings. Turning it off stops future requests; it cannot recall content already sent.
Public recipe-link imports use the public page content with OpenAI, or public YouTube content with Google Gemini. They do not send your account details or private household recipes to these providers. Ingredient explanations and AI product matching use ingredient names already found in the public recipe catalogue. Other searches can use ordinary word matching without sending your private search text to AI.
Private household recipes are not processed by background AI. You can add recipes manually, plan meals, manage shopping lists and track pantry stock without allowing private recipe processing. Provider handling and retention are governed by their applicable API terms. AI can make mistakes, so check amounts and ingredients. Generated recipe pictures are labelled as AI-generated.
Who can see your information
Everyone in your household can see what is in the household, including recipes, plans, notes and shopping lists. The people who run Kitchen Stock can see account and household information when they need to run the service, help you or fix a problem.
We use these companies to provide Kitchen Stock.
- Supabase stores our database and photos in Singapore.
- Cloudflare hosts the app and this website and checks that beta sign ups on this website come from a person.
- OpenAI reads recipes, draws pictures, matches tastes, checks which shop products match an ingredient and lays out cooking timelines.
- Google reads recipe videos with Gemini, looks up YouTube videos and holds the emails you send us.
- ScrapingAnt fetches recipe pages that do not let us download them directly.
- Resend sends our emails.
- Sentry receives a report when something in the app or on our servers breaks: the error, the page and the browser, never your name or what you typed.
Some of these companies process information outside Singapore, including in the United States and Japan. We only use companies whose terms require them to protect your information to a standard comparable to Singapore law. We share information with authorities only when the law requires it.
Recipe creators
Discover shows recipes from cooking sites and sends you to the creator’s own page. To decide which kitchens to show, we keep public information from creators’ sites and channels, such as who runs them and where they share their cooking. A creator who wants their site or details removed can write to creators@kitchenstock.io.
Cookies
The app keeps your sign in and a few display settings in your browser. These are needed for it to work. Neither the app nor this website uses advertising or tracking cookies.
We count visits to this website and the app with Cloudflare Web Analytics. It records the page, the site you came from, your country and your type of browser, without cookies and without identifying you.
How long we keep it
- Your account and household information, until you delete your account or ask us to.
- Import records, 12 months. The page text we read for an import is removed after 90 days.
- Discover activity, 12 months.
- Usage counts that enforce daily limits, 30 days.
- Error reports, 90 days.
- Invitations, 90 days after they are used or expire.
- Beta interest from this website, until we invite you or for 12 months.
- Messages to us, as long as we need them to deal with what you asked.
Your choices and rights
You can see and change most of your information in the app.
You can also ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or withdraw your consent. Write to privacy@kitchenstock.io and we will reply within 30 days. If you withdraw consent we may no longer be able to provide Kitchen Stock to you, and we will tell you what that means first. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can contact Singapore’s Personal Data Protection Commission.
Delete your Kitchen Stock account
To delete your account in the app, open Profile Settings, choose “Delete my account”, review what will be removed, and confirm with your current password. Deletion runs automatically. If you are the only admin of a shared household, choose its next admin before confirming.
If you cannot sign in or no longer have the app, you can request deletion of your account and associated personal data by emailing privacy@kitchenstock.io. You do not need to install the app or sign in.
- Use the subject “Delete my Kitchen Stock account”.
- Send the request from the email address registered to your account. If you no longer have access to that address, tell us in your request.
- Never send your password. We may ask you to verify that the account belongs to you.
In-app deletion normally completes straight away. If a storage or authentication service is temporarily unavailable, your access is blocked and cleanup retries automatically. For email requests, we will complete deletion within 30 days and email you when it is finished. We delete your account and associated personal data, including your recipes, uploaded photos, lists and cooking sessions. Shared plans may lose the recipes or photos you contributed. If you are the last person in your household, everything in the household is deleted too, including its recipes, meal plans, shopping lists and pantry records. Other members’ accounts will not be deleted.
The retention periods above describe how long we normally keep records while providing the service. For questions about a particular record or a request to delete specific personal data, use the same email address.
Children and teenagers
Accounts are for people aged 13 and over. Anyone under 18 joins only through an invitation from a parent or guardian in their household, who agrees to our terms for them. Children under 13 do not have accounts, and parents can plan meals for them as part of the household. We do not send marketing to anyone under 18.
Keeping it safe
Each household’s information is kept to that household by access rules in our database, connections are encrypted, and we test our security against common attacks. If a data breach is likely to cause you significant harm, we will tell you and the Personal Data Protection Commission as the law requires.
Changes
If we make an important change to this policy, we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect.
