From the chef’s video to the table

  1. Save it from the source

A YouTube video, a blog, a note from a friend. The recipe comes out in one shape, with the quantities the chef said once at minute nine, and your edits are the version you keep.

  2. Plan the dinner, not just the night

Several dishes on one meal, across the week. Saturday’s dinner can be three recipes and Friday’s prep, and each scales to the number at the table.

  3. Shop it in one list

Every ingredient from every dish, merged and by aisle, priced at FairPrice, RedMart or Cold Storage. The specialty shops are coming; say which first.

  4. Cook from one timeline

Cook mode, in beta, takes the dishes and the time you want to eat and lays out the order, with the oven and the stove not fighting and steps everyone in the kitchen can tick.

Where a dinner for friends goes wrong

  1. The chef says the quantities once, at minute nine, so you rewatch the video nineteen times.

  2. Three recipes, one oven, and all of them want it at 200 degrees at seven o’clock.

  3. You Google the recipe again and hope you get the version you liked, and you know you changed something last time.

Any source, one shape

Paste a link, some text or a video and it is yours, with the ingredients, the method and a photo in the same shape every time. A chef’s fourteen minute video becomes a recipe you can cook from. Discover then brings more from the same kitchen, and from a few others that cook the way you do.

What people ask

YouTube really works?

Paste the video link. It reads the recipe from the video and keeps a photo. Long videos take a minute.

What is Cook mode?

You pick the dishes for a dinner and a time to eat. It works out the order and the overlaps and shows one timeline the whole kitchen follows. It is in beta, turned on per household in settings.

Can I change a recipe?

Everything, from the title to the servings. Your version is the one you keep.
